
Draughtspersons
SALARY RANGE TO £30k (more may be available for candidates with appropriate skills) Engineering Services provides professional design support to customers both within the UKAEA Group and elsewhere in the worldwide nuclear decommissioning arena, primarily in the supply of design intent information.
Activities include the provision of specifications, concepts, option-selection support, scheme and detailed design production including justification, substantiation and verification.
A number of vacancies exist for design staff to join the team. All disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Civil/Structural and Ventilation and Process Engineers) will be considered.
You can be based at any of UKAEA Ltd’s premises but there will be a requirement to work at other locations including overseas.
Main Responsibilities
Provide professional and standardised design drawings (suitably substantiated with appropriate reference to standards and best practice)
Supervision of contractors
Support the development of projects through the design process
Liaison with clients regarding substantiation of design to user specifications
Provide advice on non-standard operations and solutions to specific design problems
Requirements
A time served engineering apprenticeship with a formal engineering qualification to at least HNC level
Proven experience of draughting to national and international standards
Technical experience in an engineering environment of your discipline
A sound understanding of safety requirements
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
