Safety Case Engineers: salary in the range up to £45K, depending on skills and experience
The Assurance Services Group in UKAEA Ltd is looking to identify Safety Case Managers and Safety Case Engineers to further develop into the field of safety case preparation. Ideally the successful candidates will be based at Warrington, but other locations will be considered.
UKAEA Ltd provides a range of services, including programme and project management, and technical and consultancy services, including safety case work.
Positions
As a Safety Case Manager, you will produce and manage the production of safety documentation for decommissioning and engineering projects and assist in, and provide support to, external bid preparation.
As a Safety Case Engineer, you will produce and support the production of safety documentation for decommissioning and engineering projects and provide support to Safety Case Managers.
Requirements
For both positions, ideally you will be qualified to degree level in an engineering or science discipline (or have equivalent professional experience). You should have, or at least be working towards, membership of an appropriate professional body. You will need good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, along with good project management skills and experience. For the Safety Case Manager, you will need experience in the production of modern standards safety cases in the nuclear or other high hazard industries, and the delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ documentation together with a sound knowledge of current safety regulations; and ideally, experience in the management of safety case writing teams. For the Safety Case Engineer, some experience in the preparation of safety cases would be desirable, or alternatively some relevant postgraduate experience.
