Project Engineer
Location: Forss, Caithness
Salary range to £40k
Project Services Group (PSG) provides total programme and project management capability tailored to meet client requirements. This includes baseline development and planning, cost estimate construction & review, strategic planning and support, schedule development and analysis, risk management and earned value management.
A Project Engineer is required to support a Senior Project Engineer on interesting and challenging design and procurement projects associated with nuclear decommissioning projects.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for producing and managing the full suite of documentation required for projects eg producing specifications for work on tasks and projects, and for producing project plans and estimates. You will also manage specific engineering projects which will include monitoring and reporting on technical progress, dealing with technical issues arising from the project and managing, supervising and assessing the performance of contractors working on the project. Liaison with clients on a wide range of project issues with also be a feature of the role.
Requirements
- A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or comparable qualifications and/or demonstrable experience
- A proven track record in project management and/or programme controls, ideally in nuclear decommissioning projects along with a good understanding of project management and design management methodologies
- Experience in management and supervising external contractors
- Experience in areas such as waste management, radiological protection and nuclear safety cases would be advantageous
- Good IT, interpersonal and communication skills
- Membership of a relevant professional body is preferred
